E&H attended the online consultation workshop: Commenting on the draft decree detailing the Vietnam Environmental Protection Law on Extended producer responsibility (EPR) for e-waste

On September 9, 2021, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in cooperation with the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA) and the Legal Department - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment co-organized a webinar " Commenting on the draft decree detailing the Vietnam Environmental Protection Law on Extended producer responsibility (EPR) for e-waste". There were more than 40 participants, including experts and representatives of associations and businesses related to the field of electricity and electronics.

The webinar was divided into 5 parts:

  • Part 1: Ms. Paramita Dasgupta – Director of market consulting department - Representative of IFC, Mr. Phan Tuan Hung - Director of Legal Department - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment - Opening speech of the Workshop
  • Part 2: Mr. Nguyen Thi, Officer of Legal Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment – ​​An overview of Extended producer responsibilities (EPR) for electronic waste treatment (E-waste) and update of the reception of comments on EPR
  • Part 3: Dr. Bernd Kopacek, International Expert, International Financial Corporation (IFC) – Overview of international experience on EPR in e-waste management and some recommendations for Vietnam
  • Part 4: Representative's consultation speech and Q&A
  • Part 5: Conclusion of the Workshop
